Will Delta 8 Give You Energy?

Delta 8 THC is a mildly psychoactive cannabinoid that naturally occurs in hemp, and because delta 8 products contain no more than 0.3% delta 9 THC, they’re protected under federal law.  This has led to a massive delta 8 wave that has swept across the nation of hemp enthusiasts, as the effects associated with the cannabinoid are generally considered to be incredibly enjoyable.

Now, delta 8 THC comes in all kinds of product forms including vapes, gummies, and more.  All of these product types allow users to enjoy the distinctive effects associated with the cannabinoid.  But, do any of those effects involve providing an energy boost?  Let’s find out.

Why Do Some People Have a Lack of Energy?

It’s expected that our energy levels will vary somewhat from day to day depending on all kinds of factors, but some people find that they chronically lack energy and feel exhausted as a result.  There are all kinds of reasons why a person may experience feelings of fatigue, and if you suffer from a lack of energy, it is important to see your doctor to figure out the underlying cause.

Pur Delta 8 Edibles: Pur Delta 8 offers 2 types of edible gummies– White Grapefruit and Rainbow Ribbons. Each of them produces a bold, juicy flavor followed by the calming sensation once the delta 8 kicks in. Both, overall, provide an overall invigorating experience allowing the terpenes to carry the taste all the way till its bitter-sweet end.

Pur Delta 8 Vapes: We offer both disposables and cartridges. The makings of the cartridge not only are made with premium structuring but provide great airflow from the bottom (1.6mm intake holes) that has a unique anti-leak design. The disposables…

These are the most common reasons for poor energy levels:

  • Stress: If you’re constantly stressed, you’ll eventually experience burnout, caused by the constant production of cortisol and other stress hormones wearing out your nervous system.
  • Poor Diet: Lacking in certain nutrients can lead to depleted energy levels, as many nutrients including vitamin B, iron and calcium all play a crucial role in maintaining energy.
  • Poor Sleep: Everyone knows that the body needs adequate sleep each night to restore its energy supply. If you’re not getting quality sleep, you’re likely to encounter chronic feelings of fatigue.
  • Age: To an extent, it’s natural to see a decline in physical energy as you age. But, this doesn’t mean that it’s natural to experience chronic fatigue.
  • Underlying Conditions: Several underlying conditions can rob you of your energy levels, including thyroid issues, inflammatory issues such as fibromyalgia, and kidney disorders.
  • Weight: Maintaining a healthy weight plays a key role in maintaining energy. Being of an unhealthy weight can cause the body to work harder than necessary to function, leading to fatigue.

Is Delta 8 THC Known for its Energizing Properties?

Let’s get straight to the point – delta 8 THC itself is not known for being the most energizing cannabinoid in the hemp plant.  Discovered in 1965, the cannabinoid has been researched quite a bit over the decades, and so we have a pretty good idea of how it affects the human body.  Properties associated with this cannabinoid include effects pertaining to nausea, appetite, mood, and physical discomfort, and perhaps its most well-known effect is its potential to behave as an anxiolytic.  You can see why then, how so many people find that delta 8 has a mellowing effect on both the mind & body.  It is also why delta-8 is preferred in the evening, when users are in the mood to sit back and relax.

That being said, delta 8 THC is not all that associated with providing a boost of energy.  It’s more associated with the opposite effect, in fact.  But, does that mean that no delta 8 products will give you uplifting, invigorating effects?  Well, not necessarily.

What Can Make a Delta 8 Product Energizing?

While delta 8 THC itself is not known for giving users a boost, that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen.  For one thing, the nature of the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) is complex, and some people may find that delta 8 does give this effect for complicated reasons having to do with the way in which their nervous system reacts to individual cannabinoids.  This isn’t common, but it does occur.  A more frequent reason why delta-8 may actually give a person energy has to do with the nature of the specific product that’s being taken.

#1: The Strain/Terpenes

Some delta 8 products, such as vaping products, come in a variety of strains.  The product’s strain refers to the configuration of terpenes inherent to its breed.  Sativa strains contain more prominent levels of terpenes associated with providing a “boost” effect and an uplifting sensation, and so many people find that sativa delta 8 products do give them energy.  Terpenes that can provide an energy boost include limonene, a-pinene and eucalyptol, so seek out strains that have high levels of these terpenes for the best effects.  Besides offering potential energy-enhancing properties, they may also lift mood and increase focus and alertness.

#2: Other Cannabinoids

If a particular product combines delta 8 THC with a cannabinoid associated with more energizing effects, such as cannabigerol (CBG) or delta 10 THC, then you may feel more uplifted after taking it.  The ratio of cannabinoids will of course make a difference.  You can also combine a delta 8 product with a specific CBG-based or delta10-based product by taking half the recommended dosage of each, which won’t just give you the properties of both cannabinoids but offer a synergistic effect between the two that can make delta-8 less mellowing.

#3: Certain Active Ingredients

If a delta 8 product is specifically formulated for energy, then you will feel a boost from taking it.  An example would be a delta 8 energy beverage that contains taurine and B vitamins, or an edible that contains certain amino acids associated with increasing energy levels.  These products will be labeled in some way so that you know that they’re more energizing than standard delta 8 formulas.  There aren’t many of these types of products on the market, so you may have to dig around, but they do exist.

#4: How Much You Take

How much delta 8 THC you take may play a role in how likely it is to energize you or make you feel sleepy.  It’s likely that higher doses of delta 8 produce stronger “mellowing” effects, while low doses actually increase feelings of alertness.  We recommend starting with the lowest dosage possible, which may look like one puff of a vape or a half of a gummy.  Note that if you have a very low tolerance or are a complete beginner to delta 8, even a very small dose may cause drowsiness at first.

#5: Product Type/Delivery Method

There really isn’t any particular product formula that’s more energizing than others, at least in the objective sense, but some people find that one product type (delivery method), such as a gummy, gives them more uplifting effects, while other products, such as vapes, make them feel more mellowed.  There are all kinds of delta 8 products available on the market, and many people find that each product type affects them differently in some way.  Again, we encourage you to experiment in order to find which works for you.

Delta 8 THC: Not the Most Energizing Cannabinoid

Delta 8 THC is, in general, not a cannabinoid that’s particularly known for providing users with a burst of energy.  However, each person’s experience with specific cannabinoids will be unique, and there are certain ways to modify your delta 8 routine to derive more of a boost out of each serving.  If you’re a fan of delta-8 and are seeking out this specific type of effect, your best bet is to try a delta 8 vape in a sativa strain, which you can find plenty of at Pur Delta 8.
